Bod Cantwell

Bod, our esteemed founder, began his professional journey as a Counsellor before advancing his expertise with a BSc in Psychotherapy and an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. His commitment to furthering his skills led him to train in both EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Schema Therapy.

Throughout his career, Bod has made significant contributions to the industry. He established and clinically managed an organisation comprising over 70 therapists, demonstrating his leadership and expertise in the field. His venture, City Centre Therapy, originated from his specialisation in treating trauma and anxiety. Recognising the necessity for a comprehensive, yet personable approach, Bod ensured that his methods not only offered direction but also fostered a safe and comfortable environment for his clients.

Bod’s dedication to his clients’ progress led him to develop a ‘wrap-around’ package, tailored to support clients in achieving their diverse goals. His keen observation and research into areas where clients faced challenges led to a groundbreaking realisation: the critical role of neurological factors, such as ADHD and neurodivergence, in emotional distress. This insight propelled him towards pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience, further deepening his understanding and capability in the field.

Today, Bod applies his extensive skill set to oversee City Centre Counselling and City Centre Therapy. His leadership ensures that the team upholds the high standard of care that has positively impacted thousands of clients over the last 15 years. Bod’s journey reflects a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a deep commitment to enhancing mental health care, making him a true asset to the field and an inspiration to both clients and professionals alike.
