BOD CANTWELL

Founder

Bod is the founder of City Centre Counselling and City Centre Therapy, with over 15 years of experience supporting clients from all walks of life. Originally starting his journey as a Counsellor, Bod went on to complete a BSc in Psychotherapy and an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). He has since trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Couples Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Currently completing a PhD focused on ADHD, Bod brings particular expertise in neurodiversity—from early identification and pre-diagnosis support to coaching and ongoing care. His work is grounded in a deep understanding of how neurodivergence, including ADHD and related conditions, can influence emotional well-being and life challenges.

A core area of specialism for Bod is trauma, including PTSD, complex PTSD (C-PTSD), and dissociative disorders. He has a strong track record of working with complex presentations and is known for being able to integrate multiple therapeutic styles to meet each person where they are.

What truly sets Bod apart is his ability to make people feel at ease. Clients often describe him as warm, down-to-earth, and deeply intuitive. His approach is all about getting it right the first time—working collaboratively to adapt therapy to you rather than the other way around.

Beyond his clinical work, Bod has led and clinically managed organisations with over 70 therapists and continues to shape high-quality, ethical, and client-centred care through his leadership. Whether you’re seeking support for long-standing issues or just need someone who really gets it, Bod brings experience, compassion, and a personalised approach to every session.
